Colorful Clouds

Sorry for the long delay between posts. I have been in the process of packing and moving (not fun stuff). I am just moving down the street but still so hard to move! But, I am finally done and will be up and running again! =)

This is the first time I have tried nails like these. No special tools were used for this design. The trick is practice and a steady hand. What you have to do is grab a brush and dip it in the polish, scrape off one side of the polish back into the polish jar. Then wait a second for the rest of the polish to drip off the end of the brush. This is the secret: you need to wait until the polish is just about to drip off the brush, then you swipe it down your nail and it will make the perfect half circle design you see on my nails. Trying it on a piece of paper first will help. Maybe I will make a tutorial for it the next time I do it! =)

Dalmatian Nails

I don't know why but these nails remind me of Dalmatians. Haha! Maybe I get it from the movie 101 Dalmatians or something! Actually, I just did a search and look what I found:

Haha! I guess I wasn't going crazy! I really was channeling my inner Dalmatians! =) I love that movie!

Valentine Nails

Love is in the air!

I used Konad stamper plate M3 for the hearts. The main polish color is Magenta by F21. The dots were done with dotting tools.

Have a great V-Day with your loved ones!
XOXO

How to Make Your Manicure Last Longer

Nothing is more annoying than spending a ton of time painting your nails to perfection and then they are destroyed in 2 days. Here are a few tips to help them last longer!

  • Get a good top coat!!!
    • A good top coat works wonders. I use Seche Vite
      • I love it because it is extremely strong and makes my polish stay on a few extra days than some other brands I have tried.
      • It majorly helps harden your polish faster which is key for this impatient girl!
      • It helps hide flaws that may have happen while you were decorating you nails and will even help hide a tiny smudge as well.

(I get it from Walgreens)
    • If just the tips and/or corners are beginning to chip, easily turn it into a french tip with another color polish or glitter or even do a design.
    • If it is starting to look a little raggedy, grab a great glitter polish and use a coat of that to top off your manicure. It will give a freshness to the manicure and hide the raggedness.
    • A good base coat is a good idea too. It will also help keep your nails healthy. I use Sally Hansen Diamond Strength.

    • When you are actually putting on your top coat from the beginning, make sure you are actually getting the tips of your nails with the top coat. See below
    • Put on a fresh top coat every other day.
    • Put at least two coats if not three of your polish on initially.
Good luck on making your fabulous mani last longer!!

      Missoni Inspired

I went shopping the other day and got some fun new colors I thought I would try out together. I have been looking for a great gold glitter polish but found this awesome one instead. It is "Bite Me" by Pure Ice. The tips are "Fushia" by Love & Beauty. These are inspired by the classic Missoni print!

      It's a Dot Dot World

After the amazing holiday I just had I was in a fun colorful mood so thought I would grab some fun colors, grab my dotting tool and dot away!!

                                                                    Colors used:
                                                                    Forver 21 - Purple
                                                                   Cover Girl - Fuchsia Affolant
                                                                   Essie - Lady Like
Sally Hansen - Mint Sortbet & Naturel White

UPDATE: Doing all these dots actually didn't take as long as I would have thought they would. I first tried it only on my ring fingers to see how it would turn out but once you get into the flow of it it took me no time at all! :)

Santa and Frosty Came to Play

Christmas is here and I am so excited. I just love everything about it; I love the smell of pine and cinnamon in the air, the sparkling lights at night, hanging with my family, seeing jolly people about, the red and green colors that no one dares to wear any other time of year and the amazing energy in the air.

For my Christmas nails I went a little crazy. First I painted them all red with NYC Madison Avenue. After that dried I painted 3 of my nails with one coat of this gorgeous Wet n Wild 24 Carats glitter polish which I love because it has different shapes of glitter in it. My middle finger I attempted to freehand Frosty with my new dotting tool (little harder than I thought he's not perefect). Then I made a Santa just like Je T'aime's.

       MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
